Over 35 Years of experience in the field of education as a teacher, researcher and administrator. As a college teacher I have adequate exposure to the quality of higher education in India. For more than three decades I contributed my mite as a teacher, evaluator, examination paper – setter and in the revision of curriculum/course content and examination reforms in Botany and Microbiology at the undergraduate level. I continue to undertake original research work since 1970 and I am a life member of prominent professional societies at the national level in Biology. I received practical training at prestigious India Universities. I am involved in college administration for over 12 Years as Head of the Department, vice-principal and  principal of a reputed degree college in Andhra Pradesh.




Current activities :


I am one of the founders of a voluntary, Non – Government organization (N.G.O) by name ‘Sarvahita’ and also its president since its inception in April 2005. The organization has been registered and assigned. Society No./77/2005. The principal objectives of the organization are Conservation of Biodiversity, conservation of medicinal plants, organic farming, fruits of biotechnology for the rural poor.


The organization is currently actively involved in survey and conservation of mangroves in Nellore district.

  • I have almost 36 years of experience in teaching Botany and Microbiology at the undergraduate level and three years as a teaching assistant at the post – graduate level (1971-1974). During this period I made certain innovations in teaching and experimentation. I also induced many a student to undertake short term research projects.

  •  Research work leading to Ph.D.Degree form April 1970 to May 1975.
  • Recipient of the UGC financial assistance for research work during February 1976 – February 1978. Worked on the interaction of Xanthomonas oryzae and X.oyzicola in vitro and in vivo during this period.
  • Acting as Research Supervisor since December 1999 for two lecturers, registered for their Ph.D.degree. The two candidates are investigating on problems of Biological control of Plant Diseases.

Jawahar Bharaati Degree College is one of the lead colleges in Andhra Pradesh and had celebrated the Golden Jubilee year from August 2000 to August 2001 during the tenure of my principalship. The college has a student strength of about 2500 and full time teaching faculty of over 50. It has several self financing courses with good infrastructural facilities.
